PURA’s price floor is a gift to telecom companies like Africell and QCell. Before the regulation, these companies offered promotional bundles as low as D13.33 per GB. Now, with PURA’s protection, they can charge D50 per GB without improving service . This is corporate welfare at the expense of the poor, enabled by a corrupt government.
